FARMOOR II

Bank Fishing:

As many of the fish caught at Farmoor can be found no more than 10m from the bank, it makes an ideal venue for experienced and novice anglers alike.

Boat Fishing:

There are 15 new Cullen 15ft fishing boats. Life jackets must be worn and will be allocated from the Fishing Lodge. We strongly recommend that you book boats in advance as boat fishing is very popular at the reservoir.

FARMOOR I Catch & Release

Booking is strongly advised as there is a limit of 15 anglers a day (bank) and currently 1 boat (2 anglers).

For those of you who haven’t fished catch & release before, the Ranger’s will be on hand to give advice on best practice and unhooking techniques.

Rules:

Please refer to rules posted in the fishing lodge and on the forum.

Facilities

Entrance to the reservoir is at Gate 3. The Fishing Lodge is located at the far end of the Sailing Club building (up the ramp at the far end of the main carpark).

Park in the 10min Anglers car park at the top of the ramp whilst you get your permits, please then leave your car in the main car park or in one of the designated car parks for anglers around the bank. PLEASE do not park on the grass or in the spaces for disabled badge holders!

Please note there is no vehicle access around the perimeter of Farmoor I (Catch & Release), use either the main car park or the new car park at the top of Farmoor II.

The Fishing Lodge

The lodge has a small tackle shop stocking a limited supply of equipment, clothing and a large selection of flies specific to Farmoor. They also sell confectionary and canned drinks. If you’re lucky you can get a cuppa from the rangers on a cold day.

The Sailing club also sells tea, coffee and bacon rolls when its open.

Tackle Hire

Available via the Fishing Lodge. Please book in advance to avoid disappointment. Charge of £15.00 per day for rod/reel/line/net – tippet and flies can be purchased in the shop.

Advice and Tuition

The Ranger’s are always on hand to give advice should you wish; where’s the best place to fish, what flies to try etc. Tuition can be arranged through local guides, simply enquire at the Fishing Lodge or use our Contact Us.

During the year a number of “Try Fly-Fishing” days will be organised, which include breakfast/lunch, tackle and if you’re lucky maybe your first trout! These prove very popular and we suggest booking your place early to avoid disappointment.

Enquire at the fishing lodge or contact the Rangers for further information and dates.

Disabled Access

Farmoor is ideal for disabled anglers, with easy access to the bank from designated parking areas and also Ranger assisted access to the boats.
