8 March 2008
A dry, bright and breezy day saw the first match of the season under
way. The match saw many of Farmoor’s regulars, season-ticket
holders and 3 RAF teams from our local airbase at Brize Norton taking
part.
The fishing was a little hard and tested out tactics, with the
competitors trying out sinking lines and Boobies, classic Buzzer
patterns, floating lines and strike indicators and even a few brave
enough to try out a variety of Damsels and Diawl Bachs.
Many of the fish caught fell to black/green Boobies, off a sinking line
and fast strip retrieve, though others were caught on buzzers.
After a frustrating day for some, the 5pm close came just as the wind
picked up and the cloud began to move in.
At the final weigh in congratulations go to the following:
1st Place: Wallen & McKenzie – bag weight 13lb 6oz
2nd Place: McKay & Taylor (RAF Team)
3rd Place: Hill & Radcliffe
Why not take a look at the gallery and view pictures during the day’s
fishing, the prize giving and the buffet/bar social afterwards.
